Mandarine Crumble

Ingredients

Method 1

  1. Drain the mandarines, but keep the juice.
  2. Put the drained mandarines in a small oven proof dish.
  3. Make the juice up to 200ml of liquid by adding water and put it in a pan.
  4. Add the cornflour and cinnamon to the liquid and stir until they have dissolved (no lumps).
  5. Gently heat the liquid, stirring all the time, until it starts to bubble.
  6. Pour the liquid evenly over the mandarines and put to one side.
  7. Turn on the oven and set to 190°C (gas mark 5).
  8. Add the oil to the flour and rub it in with your fingers to make a crumble.
  9. Mix the seeds with the crumble.
  10. Sprinkle the crumble mix evenly over the mandarines.
  11. Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes.
  12. Serve

Method 2 (quicker and less effort)

  1. Empty the tin of mandarines into a pan. If there isn't enough juice to cover the mandarines, add some water so they are completely covered.
  2. Add the cornflour and cinnamon to the mandarines and stir until they have dissolved (no clumps).
  3. Gently heat, stirring all the time, until it starts to bubble.
  4. Pour the mandarines into a small oven proof dish and put to one side.
  5. Turn on the oven and set to 190°C (gas mark 5).
  6. Grind up the oat cakes into crumbs and mix with the seeds.
  7. Sprinkle the crumb mix evenly over the mandarines.
  8. Place in the oven and heat through for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve
