20,000 IU quickly reduces mouth/skin sores. Reduces gum pain. Take 5000 IU daily.

It took me a long while to realize how important this was to my health, because I didn't notice differences quickly (it takes awhile for D to build up a store in the body). But mood improvements, weight dropped off FAR more easily - less hungry, more easily satisfied by food.

I take 5000mg a day for the last 2yrs and as of my last blood test I am still considered deficient which is better than empty, which is what I was. I beleive it helps with my pain and overall well-being.

when I started on this I could hardly get out of bed but wasn't sleeping well. I took 50ug and found I slept better and could get out more. However I should say that a blood test after I started taking 25ug daily showed I was still deficient. Everyone who in the uk should be on least 10ug a day between October and March as you can't make this in skin at our latitude. I was also taking calcium and magnesium.

Vitamin D3 5000 iu prescribed OTC by medical doctor after blood test showed low level. Over time, would agree with other comment "better sleep patterns and overall wellbeing." I was told the "D3" OTC was important and that the prescription D mega dose was ultimately ineffective in bringing up levels.
