5 Point Comments - It Helped Me a Lot

Sun, 25 Mar 2018 17:53:18
I use a 500mcg spray of Methylcobalamin once a day. It stopped a lot of my pains, the day in day out ones, and I noticed that I sped up a bit with my walking. If I don't have it, I go downhill within 3 days. My blood B12 was in the normal range but I read that there's a new test to see if it's actually doing it's job, this B12. Only two labs were doing the test so I just thought I'd try it. I turned a corner with this. Methylcobalamin is ready for the body to use too. Normal B12 might not work.

2 Point Comments - It Made Me a Bit Worse

With methyl B12 can come a slight over stimulation, and an increase in the wired but tired feeling, which in turn can burn you out sooner. You may think there is an improvement, but in the end you're driving yourself out of fuel sooner. For many people I think it will do more harm than good.

There is a mixed opinion on whether or not people with CFS should be taking methyl B12 and methylfolate, and I've taken it for a few years to come to an understanding that it isn't good... or at least isn't for me. It's important to do whatever works for you, and to resist people telling you that any negative effects from it are actually good. Otherwise there is no way to weigh whether or not it is helping, if any effect (positive or negative) is assumed part of the process.

It's also important to weigh whether or not the B12 is what is helping by separating it from your other supplements. It may be that any benefits are actually coming from other supplements you are taking, which you may assume to be the B12.
