I use a relatively high dose (100 mg) under doctor's (MD). I also use a relatively high dose of Pregnenolone (500 mg) - under same doctor's supervision, although I have also used the DHEA alone with good results. For me they have different effects for different symptoms, but also work well in conjunction. Although my DHEA-S blood levels were in range, I was told that the DHEA will help with depression and was better or as effective as Prozac. I took DHEA after tapering off of Prozac that I had used for over 20 years with good results but had seemed to "poop out" and then cause unwanted side effects. In my experience, it works as good or better and does not cause unwanted activation/excitability or anxiety.
